Dutch artist and kinetic sculptor Theo Jansen has been working for the last decade to build this 'new life' out of these yellow tubes. They have programmed into them genetic algorithms that simulate evolution. His goal is to have them live on their own in the winds at the beach. Jansen says "The walls between art and engineering exist only in our minds."
