Self-Organized Hierarchical Systems

The self-organized hierarchal system emerges from the many interactions between the smallest entities. The typical interaction of length and time scales between same-level subsystems increases as one ascends each level of description. Self-organization is based on the special type of interaction between subsystems (or modules), which are either collaborative or competitive relations.

Defensible Dress

This is a dress designed byarchitect Meejin Yoon. She lectured last semester at Pratt and showed how exactly they made this dress work...I find it interesting because it reacts to the movement of people around the wearer, there can be different settings etc. The way it's shown in the video is kind of like the bones of the dress, but some other fabric could begin to skin it.
